Ryan Gallagher uses traditional Thangka Painting to explore math and cultural studies. Students learn graphing, fractions, cultural history, stress management and patience.
Ryan Gallagher lives in Lowell, MA. He is the author of Plum Smash and Other Flashbulbs published in 2005 and The Complete Poems of Gaius Valerius Catullus (translations from the Latin) in 2008. He completed his MFA at the Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics where he was the recipient of the William Burroughs scholarship.
He also studied Thangka painting, traditional Tibetan Buddha paintings, for two years and is an accomplished artist. Ryan currently teaches high school literature and runs Bootstrap Productions, a non-profit literary and arts press.
